We are retiring Alice and beginning the search for her retirement home. Alice is a beautiful 6 year old tri color, spayed female that is usually right around 45 lbs. Alice is from our own kennel and 6th generation of our current foundation stock. Alice is a bit skittish in new situations but is very routine and tries to anticipate what is expected of her next. She can be a very spunky and active girl but she also has a very sweet and docile side. She loves to give my toddler kisses! Alice is a cuddle bug and though can be a little shy with meeting new people she usually ends up in their laps. She was recently spayed and loved, and was loved by the vet staff.

She has gotten more dominant as she has gotten older and would do best as an only dog or with males. It was usually more when she is in heat and/or pregnant so she may even out now that she is spayed. She should do fine paired with a neutered male. She picks up on new things quickly and loves the water, though has only played in kiddie pools! She is very routine and can show some anxiety when things are changed up, but can adapt. We have had very good success with longevity and overall health in her lines (15-17 years in ancestors). She does show some prey drive towards cats but that was also when they were near her puppies, so not sure how she would do with full access. She is crate trained, good for grooming, rides fine in the car, but is not a huge fan of collars/leashes. She has always been this way since a pup and does better with harness. She just tries to avoid a slip leash and gets more anxious walking with a typical leash and collar. She would require a fence or be leashed until fully settled and trained to her new surrounds. We are asking a re-homing fee.

Elphie, Santana from our Glee litter born August 2022, went to her new home at 8 weeks but proved to have GI issue and was returned. She returned to us in November 2022 and we've worked with the vet to try to find the cause and some treatments for her. Elphie went to live with a foster in the Summer of 2023, where she currently resides. Through it all Elphie has proved to be a very sweet, smart, playful, and loving girl! She wants to be friends with everyone and is a wonderful companion! She just needs a patient family that can handle her special circumstances!

Her Foster momma said would keep her if she could, but is at her dog limit and Elphie and her foster family's intact female ES aren't getting along anymore, though she is great with the 2 males! Elphie has been doing wonderful there and hasn’t had any accidents since her 2nd day, so she can hold it. She is learning things quickly and loves playing with her brother and another male ES. She has had her ups and downs with different food trials but have received feedback from a sibling with the same issue that a homemade diet made a huge difference and they are willing to share information! If you feel able to open your heart and home please send us an email at [email protected]!

Notes from her Foster "Cues she knows: Sit, down, wait, recall to name & whistle, right & left, kennel-up & hup-it-up (getting in car).
Sits & waits on verbal at door to go out. Release word is okay. Downs and waits in kennel, to come out or to eat. Likes to play with certain dogs- no particular reason. Plays with toys, sometimes will play fetch. Is sometimes a high status seeking girl (can be dominant). Does have a bad habit (which we're working on) of barking in her kennel when she hears me getting food ready, or just because. Haven't had her around cats, so no idea. She is a people girl and usually wants to please. Is also a "Party Girl". "

Visitation information:

Unfortunately we don't allow visitors to come meet the moms and puppies until the puppies have been vaccinated. The puppies are given their first vaccines at 7 weeks of age and require a week of incubation time for the vaccines to become effective. We do everything in our power to raise happy and healthy puppies and are very protective of our babies. There are several k-9 viral diseases that can be passed on from dog to dog by direct or indirect contact. They can be passed in the feces or vomit of an infected dog. They can be brought into our yard on the tires of your car, on your feet, or simply on your clothing after petting an infected dog. They can be passed from yard to yard by birds carrying the disease or by people going "kennel-hopping" and carrying the virus on their clothing or shoes. It is impossible for you or I to know what is lurking on your clothing, and for this reason we have decided to keep puppy buyers out of our nursery.   We want to make sure that our puppies are safe from these diseases so we ask that we have NO VISITORS until the pups are 8 weeks and safely inoculated.
